Mike Munzing: Republican Party’s “Gestapo” in South Orange County
Mayor of Aliso Viejo trying to shutdown Boys & Girls Club
In a disturbing act of Republican intimidation, Mike Munzing, labeled here as the GOP Gestapo, has targeted the Boys & Girls Club of America. With apparent backing from the Republican Party and Rancho Santa Margarita mayoral candidate Tony Beall, Munzing is threatening to terminate city contracts and leases with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo due to their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program. In his official capacity as the "OCGOP Central Committee Representative for Rancho Santa Margarita," Munzing has attacked the Boys & Girls Club DEI program in a manner reminiscent of Gestapo tactics in Nazi Germany. Munzing has "advised, recommended, and demanded" that the Rancho Santa Margarita Republican City Council not renew the Boys & Girls Club’s lease with the city. He claims that the DEI program's materials and information amount to nothing more than leftist indoctrination and has urged his “comrades” on the city council not to renew the lease.
In an email to the council members—all white Republicans—Munzing stated:
Munzing has been plotting with Tony Beall to terminate the contract/lease with the Boys & Girls Club, with Beall suggesting a Rancho Santa Margarita Museum as a replacement.
Most importantly, this is not a new direction, nor is it a program rooted in leftist, Marxist/Communist ideology. The Boys & Girls Club has always been dedicated to the holistic development of our youth, ensuring they grow into well-rounded, empathetic, and informed adults. The introduction of the DEIB program is a natural progression of this mission, reinforcing the principles of fairness, respect, and inclusion that have long been at the heart of the club's work.
This program is not about indoctrination or promoting any specific culture or lifestyle. Instead, it aims to create an environment where all children feel safe, valued, and respected, regardless of their background or identity. The reference materials provided are designed to broaden perspectives, foster critical thinking, and cultivate a deeper understanding of the diverse world in which we live.
Mike Munzing is a despicable person. He has been this way since he became a Republican councilman for Aliso Viejo. He is a gun-toting, misogynistic racist. It’s appalling that the city of Aliso Viejo continues to elect this sorry excuse for a human being. "A man is known by the company he keeps,” and the same can be said for a city: “A city is known for the council it keeps.” Using that as a baseline for the City of Aliso Viejo is disturbing.
Remember this issue involving Mike Munzing when he verbally sexually harassed two Aliso Viejo female officers. Allegedly, the female officers had to be paid off by city taxpayers to resolve the matter, and yet the city’s residents still voted this disgraceful person into office. The following response from a records request to the city seems to confirm that incident. Seriously, what kind of city elects this type of individual? It probably wouldn’t even matter if one of the female officers was the daughter of a resident of Aliso Viejo. The residents would still elect him because he is a white male republican. They do not care how many people he hurts or offends.
What does that say about the moral character of the city? So now, instead of harassing female police officers, Comrade Mike is harassing the female director of the Boys & Girls Club and allegedly referring to her minority Hispanic children as “racists.”
Comrade Mike allegedly accused the children of being “little racists” because he could tell by the way the minority kids looked at him and didn’t say “hi” or acknowledge his presence when he visited the club. He could “see” they were looking at him in a racist way, allegedly. Mike also allegedly stated that the DEIB program's purpose was to prompt the kids to pursue a gay lifestyle. Because of the Boys & Girls Club’s DEIB program, Comrade Mike threatened to have the city terminate its contract with the club, hence the need for the city attorney’s response. A lawsuit seems inevitable, specifically for harassing, badgering, and demanding that the club remove their constitutionally protected DEIB program to satisfy Mayor Munzing. It’s doubtful that any other council member had an issue with the program or felt that the minority kids in the club were “racist.” Mike harassed the director in such a racist and misogynistic manner that the Aliso Viejo city attorney had to issue a letter stating that Mike’s “communications” were in no way authorized by the city.
Far from harming the kids, this program equips them with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate a multicultural society with compassion and confidence. It empowers them to stand against injustice and to treat others with dignity—a core value we should all aspire to uphold.
Closing the Boys & Girls Club would deprive our community's youth of a vital resource that has been instrumental in their growth and success for many years. The DEIB program enhances the club’s mission, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive in an environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equity. But the damage is already done. Comrade Mike got what he wanted. The director removed the DEIB agenda out of fear of continued harassment by Munzing towards her and the kids, as well as the possibility of facing more challenges with the city ruled by Mike. The attorney’s letter accomplished nothing for the Boys & Girls Club, except possibly exempting them from a lawsuit.
The attorneys’ letter is shown below. This letter confirms that Mike Munzing allegedly made unwelcome, threatening, distasteful, and possibly racist remarks describing the Boys & Girls Club in general and their DEIB program specifically. The city attorney is distancing the city from the disgusting remarks made by Mayor Munzing. The city of Aliso Viejo has no backbone and no integrity with council members such as Mike Munzing.
By your insane logic, if I write your employer and ask for all your personnel records, and they deny it (because it would be illegal to disclose those records), that would somehow imply that you're guilty of whatever I'm investigating.
Mike struggled with what to do about The Boys & Girls Club OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO VALLEY - not whatever random South Orange County city you assigned the club to. He struggled because the club provides a valuable service to this city's youth, but at the same time as a Man he couldn't stand by and watch the club pollute young minds and say nothing. Apparently you have no similar compunction.
He took this stand because the books in the club's DEIB list were by and large dangerous for children to read. They weren't the "next logical step" in the club's evolution as you tried to downplay it, but were instead designed to make children dislike themselves, amplify their self-doubts, and lead them down dangerous paths that could mutiliate or even sterilize them. That you didn't even bother to peruse the titles on the DEIB list is another telling example of how disingenuous and braindead you are as a human.
This article you wrote is pure propagandist garbage - and it's poorly written. But I'm sure you and your drinking buddies will read and howl with laughter as you play drinking games with your case of White Claw.
Maybe for your next trick you can accuse the LA Times of being "Alt-Right" for refusing to endorse Kamala Harris.
It's adorable that you think I'm Mike.
